Client & Context

As of Oct 2025, XDS-Astana Team is ranked 4th in the Union Cycliste Internationale WorldTour. The team includes 46 racers from Italy, France, Denmark, and other countries. Its sponsors include companies from around the world, such as XDS, Samruk-Kazyna, X-Lab, and Freedom Broker. XDS-Astana Team needed a single hub for sponsors, sports media, and fans: up-to-date team info, race results and news, sponsor exposure, and fan engagement with media and social channels.

Goals

  1. 1
Structure the site around tasks and core audiences — fans, media, sponsors.
  2. 2
Make roster, sponsors, news, races, and history easy to discover and maintain.
  3. 3
Ensure a mobile-first experience across all pages.

Challenges

  • One site, many audiences with distinct tasks and expectations.
  • Three languages with strict UI/content parity and editor-friendly workflows.
  • Performance & compatibility requirements across modern desktop and mobile browsers.

Building a Mobile-First, Multilingual Sports Website

Discovery

We mapped audiences and flows, then defined a clear structure: Home, News, Team, Calendar, Sponsors, About Us. Navigation emphasizes quick access to roster and latest content.

Risks & How We Mitigated Them

Missing the deadline

Mitigation. We fixed a short, weekly milestone rhythm and only moved forward after each milestone was approved.

Decision bottleneck. Design/dev blocks while waiting for feedback

Mitigation. We booked fixed review windows and applied a “silent approval after 48 hours” rule for non-critical items.

Late content. Key pages can’t be finished on time because materials arrive late or incomplete

Mitigation. We set a content tracker with owners and deadlines, and used clearly marked placeholders.

Compliance & Security

Privacy alignment: implement GDPR (EU), PIPL (China), and Kazakhstan Personal Data Law principles.
Cross-border transfers: provide notices and appropriate safeguards for transfers among EU/China/Kazakhstan servers.

Results

A single, multilingual platform now serves fans, media, and sponsors with fast access to roster, news, races, and brand assets. The site delivers a first-class mobile experience, with fast loading and clear reading on small screens.

We saw growth in website visitors and citations of articles published on the web. Imaga had good planning and clear deadlines, weekly updates, day-by-day accessibility, daily support during the project, and all web releases on time.
